Project Description:
NONA (abbreviation of New gOvernance for New spAces) is the flagship project of the New European Bauhaus Danube Lab, which aims to demonstrate concrete solutions in practice that enable the green transition in line with the values of the NEB in the Danube region. The main objective of the project is to develop a new multi-level governance model for integrating green investments into sustainable territorial development in the Danube Region. Through functional cooperation between public authorities, civil society and the private, investment and financial sectors, the model will lead to an improved capacity of cities and regions to initiate and implement investments in more responsible land use practices as a basis for a new green and equitable economy.
This will be achieved through the development of a Green Investment Model, a set of tools that will enable cities in the Danube Region to integrate green investments. The model will be developed through bottom-up participatory processes in 3 different geographical scopes in 10 pilot areas reflecting the diversity of socio-economic realities in the Danube region. It will be expanded and integrated through the NONA Academy, supporting local communities in the Danube Region in planning and financing their green and equitable transition processes and enabling access to green investments through the Danube Green Investment Hub.
Partners: 18 organisations from 10 countries – Slovenia, Germany, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Moldova and Ukraine.
Project event: On 2 November the NONA project was presented at the Urban Encounters in Stara Zagora. The event, organized by the Creative Collective “Na Ulitsata”, included a workshop on green urban spaces and the future of aerospace sites. We presented NONA’s innovative approach to transforming degraded Danube areas into sustainable development opportunities.
