Reimagining the Youth Fountain and Museum Park

Community Engagement & Placemaking Workshop – Belgrade, Serbia

Date: November 15, 2025
Time: 11:00 – 13:00
Location: Belgrade Dance Institute, Bulevar vojvode Mišića 43
Project Site: Youth Fountain and the park and square in front of the Museum, Belgrade

Students, young creatives, and community members are invited to take part in the Reimagining the Youth Fountain and Museum Park workshop — a collaborative event exploring how creativity, memory, and participation can help transform public space.

Organized by Belgrade Dance Institute as part of D.Dance Alliance in collaboration Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) (MOME),  The Collective Foundation, and  Iskriva – Institute for Development of Local Potentials, this workshop forms part of a long-term artistic intervention that will culminate in a public performance in 2026.

The Youth Fountain and its surrounding park and square are among Belgrade’s recognizable but underused public spaces. The project aims to reintroduce this area to the community, collect stories and ideas for its future, and build emotional and cultural connections that extend beyond a single event.

Through group discussions, creative mapping, and collage-making, participants will explore the site’s history and meaning, share personal impressions, and imagine new possibilities for the space. Insights and materials gathered during the workshop will directly inform the 2026 festival performance, which will symbolically activate the site and invite the public to experience it anew.

Participation is free and open to all students and young creatives in Belgrade.

The project is co-funded by the European Union and the National Culture Fund.
