Project description:
D.Dance Alliance aims to develop contemporary dance in the Danube region by creating a “Danube Dance Alliance” with innovative, modular and hybrid international co-productions. It is based on the collaboration between 7 transdisciplinary organisations from Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will develop an international co-production combining contemporary dance with new technologies, theatre, performance, puppetry, architecture, tourism and regional development.
The production will be modular and accessible live, in virtual reality (VR) or as a hybrid performance. Through 10 collaborative workshops with local communities in 5 cities (Tarnovlje, Velenje, Svetvincenat, Belgrade, Sarajevo) over 50 international artists and residents, creatives, artisans and businesses will create unique content using local resources. The co-production will be presented live in 5 cities and its version as a virtual experience will tour another 10 cities in the region, directly engaging over 6,200 viewers.
The project is fully in line with the Creative Europe programme, promoting cultural diversity, economic opportunities and innovation in the cultural and creative sectors. Its aim is to create an international alliance for the sustainable development of the contemporary dance scene, stimulating interdisciplinary cooperation in the Danube region and beyond.
The innovative use of technology, collaborative approaches and commitment to sustainable development underline the project’s potential to leave a lasting mark on the contemporary dance scene in the Danube region and beyond.
